THE LEDGER.
A citizen's audit of Canada.
THE LEDGER is a documentary that follows Canadian public money the way the public should: what was promised, what was spent, what it bought, and who checked.
Every figure in the film comes from a public record: audit reports, budgets, statutes, court judgments, parliamentary testimony and Statistics Canada. Each one is listed on the Sources page with a link to the original and an archived copy.
This film is not against a party, and it is not for one. Every party that has held power is in it. Where a record can be read more than one way, the film shows the other reading too.
The narrator's voice is synthetic. The filmmakers are anonymous so that the film is judged on its evidence. Research and drafting were assisted by AI tools; every claim was checked against its source.
